On 27 August 2026, Commission President Ursula von der Leyen gave the keynote speech for the start of the La Rencontre des Entrepreneurs de France - REF, speaking about European industry, innovation, investment, security, competitiveness and the single market.
The President set out a vision for a stronger Europe: a Europe that protects, a Europe that invests, a Europe that innovates, and a Europe that leads.
