Historical Belle | Making an 18th Century Coat IN 3 HOURS!!!!! @HistoricalBelle | Uploaded March 2020 | Updated October 2024, 2 hours ago.
It was the morning of the Outlander Ball and I decided my wonderful boyfriend, Steven, needed a jacket to wear to the ball that evening. I texted him at about 11am to tell him I had started his jacket with hopes of getting it done by the time I needed to be at the venue to rehearse for the ball, which was 4pm. I also had to do my hair, makeup, get dressed, and drive to the venue by 4…. So today I’m showing you how I made an 18th century gentleman’s in a hurry…this was sewn quick and dirty… This is by no means the historically accurate way to do things, but it was wearable within a few hours and that is what I needed. I used Butterick's Making History pattern 3072.
