Historical Belle | Making a Regency Vest | The Bridgerton Project @HistoricalBelle | Uploaded February 2023 | Updated October 2024, 3 hours ago.
My love and I have a few Bridgerton themed events coming up, and given that he does not have any Regency Era attire, I obviously need to make him an ensemble.
I decided to start with the vest. For this project I am using all fabric from my stash and Laughing Moon Pattern 125: Men's Vest 1795-1817. This pattern is based on patterns published in 2 tailoring manuals from the late 18th and early 19th century. Specifically, those manuals are: The Taylor's Complete Guide (1796) and The Taylor's Instructor (1809). I found it to be a great and accurate pattern.
As Bridgerton begins in 1813, I decided to make an 1810's ensemble for my love, using pattern option B.
I really enjoy making costumes for my love for our historical adventures. It also helps broaden my skills as I have not ventured into men's fashion as much.
I am really happy with how this vest turned out, and cannot wait to show you all the final ensemble!
