I am experimenting with a high temperature clay to make an insulated propane fired knife forge. Not exactly a true "Mini Forge", but a small furnace chamber none the less. I take you through the build process as well as show you tests I initially did using ceramic fiber.
It is a bit of a long one, but skip to the parts that interest you, or just sit back and relax.
In the next video (Pt 2) I will fire the forge in an electric kiln and see if it survives. Assuming it does, it will be refired again with glaze and then tested with a propane burner!
If the forge explodes in the firing, Pt. 2 will be a short video!
