In this step-by-step tutorial, I’ll show you how I created my own handmade travel journal using Coptic binding, with gel plate prints for the covers and coordinating pockets inside.
This journal was designed to be both functional and creative. Inside, I’ve included:
Handmade ruled paper for writing daily travel notes
Pre-added dates to make journaling easy while on the go
Mixed media paper for sketching, painting, or capturing special sights
Pockets to store fun memorabilia like tickets, postcards, and keepsakes
I’ll walk you through the full process—from assembling the pages to binding the book—so you can create your own travel journal that’s perfect for documenting adventures in a personal, artistic way.
I’m also excited to take along my Canon Ivy portable printer on my travels. Being able to instantly print small sticker photos makes it so easy to add meaningful moments right into the journal as they happen.
