Our big cybersecurity decisions are poorly informed. The fundamental, conceptual decisions such as:

- Which functionality you actually need
- Which technology or protocols you’re going to use
- How your system and network architecture will look like
- How users will interact with your systems.

Cybersecurity Decision Diagrams have been designed to fill that information gap and lead to better decisions. Sarah describes the three diagrams that can be layered on top of each other to make all existing system assumptions, required functionality, and human interactions visible. Thereby leading to more informed and better decisions.

It's an efficient approach for engineers to pour their knowledge into the diagrams. The diagrams can then be used for decision-making by engineers or cyber people and for communicating decisions to management and authorities once they’ve been made.
