Is OT really all that different from IT? Why can't tools that have been battle-tested in robust IT environments work just as well in OT? Is an on-premise OT DMZ environment truly the most secure place to host OT security management tools, or is SaaS a more secure environment?

Many technology categories, such as firewalls, remote access, file transfer, network monitoring, and endpoint security have released OT specific offerings that claim to solve specific problems related to OT and industrial environments.

Eric dived into the OT cybersecurity technology stack within every level of the Purdue Model and investigated whether OT fit-for-purpose or IT technology may make more sense. He identifies where IT technology starts to give inadequate protection and OT specific technology becomes the better choice.
