Need for Speed: Carbon is a 2006 racing video game, and the tenth installment in the Need for Speed series. Developed by EA Canada, Rovio Mobile and EA Black Box, and published by Electronic Arts, it was released on October 30, 2006, for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube, Windows and Mac OS X and in 2008 for arcades. The game sees players conducting illegal street races within the fictional city of Palmont City, with the games main story taking place after the events of Need for Speed: Most Wanted and focusing on the players character taking control of the city from various street-racing gangs. Need for Speed: The Run is a racing video game and the eighteenth title in the Need for Speed series.
