In today’s video on the farm, we hit a string of setbacks that made for a wild day! First, we found another break in the mainline irrigation pipe, so we had to dig up the field to fix it—but not before we blew a tire on the backhoe while heading out. Then we got hit with more news: we now have to clean all of our potatoes before they go to the processing plants. That means setting up our potato cleaning and transloading equipment ASAP to keep shipments moving. And to top it off, one of our irrigation pivots wouldn’t start, so we made a trip to the pivot center—only to find a skunk living under the pivot! It’s just another unpredictable day in the life of a potato farmer.
