Join Utah SHPO Historical Architect Jansen Bennett and Historic Tax Credit Coordinator Amber Anderson for a 1 hour overview of building code and historic buildings. Gain a high level understanding of code and learn about the three different compliance paths that can be used to bring a historic building back into use. We will walk through the pros and cons of each path as applied to a case study building. This webinar is a great introduction for property owners and building professionals alike.

**As a rule, you should know that code questions are tricky and nuanced by nature. All code is open to interpretation, with the final decision made by the code official on a case by case basis. As the Authority Having Jurisdiction, the code official has the final say on all code questions. It is very helpful to get with the code official fairly early in a project (as soon as you have a good idea of the work required) to understand what will likely be required in a given situation.

This forum is intended to allow space for multiple perspectives. The opinions voiced in this program should not be assumed to reflect the views of Utah’s administration.
