So, I was cruising around YouTube a few days before I was to begin writing this song, and I came upon some live performances of Tori Amos, and to say I was enchanted would be an understatement. I couldn't understand how there could be such a disconnect between what I had her of her albums in the nineties, and what I was seeing on that stage. She was incredible. Anyway... Watching those performances, for some reason, brought out these lyrics, and a week and a half later, this song was born. The lyrics below include a verse that wasn't included in the recording.
Oh, and the ending song or "diddy" as we call them, is my second song about this wonderful corona virus (coronavirus) we're all going through right now.

Wow, this song came from an unexpected place. I had my heart set on covering a Neil Diamond song, but when I went to do it, it just didnt feel right - so I started writing and this is what came out. Facing Doubt is an ode to life not going the way we want it to or the way we think it should. From my experience, life has a funny way of making sure that happens. The quote, Life happens when I was making other plans seems quite universally applicable. So what to do? Recently, I just shrug my shoulders and write a song about it (while working myself ragged trying to steer this crazy ship!)
