So, I just couldnt get the idea of doing this cover out of my head, but this song is too sacred to me to go full-metal and I couldnt quite figure out how to do it right. So, I decided to just go for it and see what came out. Sometimes when I finish a song I am pleased with the result, and sometimes I wish I could do better.
The Little drummer boy represents to me what the ultimate gift to our Savior can be. The Little Drummer Boy doesnt have anything to give, but his drumming - and he got to give that gift to the baby Jesus. May we all give the best of ourselves this Christmas season.

This song is the only song Ive written in the last 1.5 years that has taken longer than a week to produce. Ive been working on this one for almost 3 months.
By no means am I any type of expert on this subject, and in fact am quite ignorant to most of its oppressive nature, but recently Ive come into contact with and become close to a few people who are struggling with mental illness. I cant imagine what a consistent and horrible battle that must be. My heart goes out to any one who has loved ones who battle with this, and even more to those who are fighting it themselves.
This song came out of my yearning for understanding in this area. We all deal with our own personal demons, and I am no exception. This song goes out to all those who are putting up a fight to that which ails us. Keep fighting. Keep believing. Keep hoping for the better day.
