Magda Olivero, Amsterdam 1973: La Wally (act 4).
In 1973 Magda Olivero came back again to the Netherlands and gave on may 5 a concert in the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. The program:
1: Act 3 complete: Mefistofile (Arrigo Boito)
2: Act 4 complete: La Wally (Alfredo Catalani)
3: Act 4 complete: Adriana Lecouvreur (Francesco Cilea)
With her sang: the italian tenore Maurizio Frusoni, and te Duch singers: Henk Smit (basso)and Rina Cornelissens (soprano).The Concertgebouw-orchestra is conducted by Anton Kersjes.
The concert was a great sucess. As Vincenzo Quattrocchi writes in her biography: " Le ovazione sono interminabili e al la fine non le permettonodi laciare il palconcenico, dove la riciamano continuamente insistenti applausi. Ogni spettatotreha in mano unpiccolo mazzo di fiori, pricipalmente fresie e tulipani, da offrire personalamente all'artista........."
