Tormach Inc. | Machining Props for a Movie - Alita: Battle Angel @tormachinc | Uploaded December 2018 | Updated October 2024, 10 minutes ago.
To help speed up the prop production for Alita: Battle Angel, Troublemaker Studios turned to their well used Tormach PCNC mills. There’s lots of behind the scenes actions that lead up to the creation of a movie. Anything from small props to accessories on large props, the CNC mill has multiple tasks in the film industry.
The machines first started production during the film Spy Kids 3, and are now continuing that production for Alita: Battle Angel. Both machines are run extensively and Steve says that they wouldn’t be able to make all of these parts without the help of Tormach machines. They have an old school environment where everything is built in studio which also allows them to speed up the turn-around time.
On top of having CNC mills they have some large routers for all of the accessories and props. The machines have allowed Troublemaker studios to be more creative, more flexible, and have a faster turnaround than having an outside vendor. They make anything from signs to wrist watches.
