The Heritage Nuevo uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper as opposed to a USA Connecticut Valley Connecticut wrapper as found on the Macanudo Café. Otherwise, the binder and filler are essentially the same. The band covers the entire body and depicts a vintage-style map of Ecuador.

The dry draw is overall sweet with nice flavours that are reminiscent of raisin and dates. Meanwhile, the smell on the foot is mostly cedar with straw and a slight hint of barnyard. Its wrapper has a dull sheen with a firm body and ideal draw.
02:20 1st Third Tasting Notes
The Heritage Nuevo takes a while for the flavours to kick in. Off the band, it consists overall of toasted flavours. Once into it, it develops some creaminess with cedar and dried grass. The retrohale features a slight citrus note.

The Heritage Nuevo has a nice presentation. Its box is a yellow and white map of Ecuador, which refers to where the wrapper tobacco is sourced. It has a boutique feel thanks to the numbered box and it contains 10 cigars. The inside of the lid offers information about the blend. The box has a magnetic latch and delivers a rich cedar smell.

Each cigar sampled had an excellent draw. The burn line is generally straight but the one in the video was somewhat wavy. Nevertheless, it didn't need touching up. The ash backbone and quality are both great while the temperature is fantastic. However, its smoke output is somewhat limited.

The flavour evolves but still produces a creamy cedar accord overall. It's nuttier with a distinctive almond note while the retrohale has evolved to offer what is a more vivid lemon flavour.

The Heritage Nuevo is ideal for the morning or for beginners who are seeking to try something that's relatively mild. Consider pairing the cigar with tea or coffee. A caffè latte would be ideal. Otherwise, it's a versatile cigar that can be enjoyed casually or in more formal settings, especially with people who aren't yet accustomed to cigars.

The cedar and cream notes have persisted while the citrus retrohale is still present. The final third is generally more toasty, however, especially towards the nub. I would refrain oversmoking the cigar all the way down as the nub can have a bitter char flavour towards the end.

The recommended retail price for a toro is around $12 but it can be found cheaper online. At the cheaper price, it offers excellent value and is an ideal versatile humidor filler.
