Of the more than 3,430 students making up 770 participating teams in the 2026 MathWorks Math Modeling Challenge, nine top teams were selected from across the U.S., England, and Wales, after having their submissions judged by an international panel of Ph.D.-level mathematicians.
During the 2026 competition final event — held in New York City on April 27, 2026 — these top teams presented live to a panel of judges, followed by teams' Q&A sessions and an awards ceremony, where final team ranking was announced. Special congratulations to these nine teams who joined us in New York City and were ranked among the very top papers submitted in 2026, and to all participating teams!
