However many American Christians have been influenced by the teachings of John Nelson Darby through the Scofield Study bible. Scofield taught that Jesus is not currently the Christ but instead we are in the interregnum period or Church age. After the Church is raptured Jesus will come back again to the Jews, sitting on the Throne of David and offer himself as their Christ. Then the millennium or thousand year rule by the Jews can begin. But John says the liar and antichrist denies Jesus is currently the Christ. I John 2: 22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
