Quite an unexpected low fly by performed by a Panavia Tornado from the Italian Air Force (6th Stormo) during yesterday's '50 years of Tornado' celebration at Ghedi Air Base in the North of Italy. A total of 4 Tornados and two new F-35A Lightning II were used for some formation flyovers to entertain the attending public. The second pass you see in this short video is from the Italian Tornado with the special livery designed for the 50th anniversary, flown by the squadron commander.

Heres a video I made during my summer 2018 holidays in Germany, at the Nürburgring. Going there and dont have a drive on the Green Hell its like having made the trip up there for nothing, so as I did in 2016 for my very first experience on the Nordschleife, I went to Need For Ring, one of the many car rental company around the track, in order to rent something to enjoy the evening toursitenfahrten (tourist rides).
I was looking for something a bit more powerful and fast compared to the Ford SportKa I rented 2 years ago for my very first 4 laps but unfotunately there was nothing available if not the same SportKa! Taking into account that my buddy MattyB727 wanted to do his first Green Hell lap, I agreed to divide the cost of the rental so we would have done two laps each.
This video is about my two laps (my 5th and 6th ever lap, a bit cutted and edited due to traffic and boring parts, on the Ring) in that lovely lightened and stiffened 95hp SportKa. I must admit its the perfect car if its your first experience there and its possibly the cheapest rental car of the Nurburgring. Its a bit stressful seeing the car struggling on the few uphill straights, but due to its lightweight, roll bar and setup you can attack the corners without much problems.
Last but not the least, we were lucky enough that day since the Touristenfahrten session wasnt exclusive on the Nordschleife layout (20.8 km) but the 23.8km one (Nordschleife + Sprint GP Circuit but without the Mercedes Arena).

Some big mistakes, lots of little ones... when it comes to rwd cars and gravel stages, Im always pretty scared to push the car without crashing or bounching left and right after touching those hilly sides of the road. But no, I dont like to self-harm. I just chose this combination (the second longest Dirt Rally 2.0 stage plus the Ford Sierra RS Cosworth) because I had to train to complete a scenario of the Colin McRae: FLAT OUT Pack featuring the same stage and car with 100% AI difficulty.
Following the mistakes I did here, my actual run for the scenario went a lot better.

Back to rallycross. This time I preferred to do a Time Trial event instead of a proper race. In this mode, the game gives you 8 laps in which you have to set your fastest time around the track. I think I did 4 or 5 laps as an attempt, in the others I played with that 600hp BWT-liveried Audi S1 EKS Quattro trying to drive in a more show way.

Finally after four different airshows within a year I managed to get a distortion-free (except for a few milliseconds) binaural video of a fighter jet. I was aware of my limited microphones sound pressure level when I purchased it but I had no intention of using it for airshows at that time. Ill look into upgrading for next year!
So heres my way of bringing you closer to what it was like to be on the Italian shores and experience the roar of the Dassault Rafale C (single seater version) in the hands of Captain Jean-Brice “Mimouss” Millet, the 2024-25 display pilot of the French Rafale Solo Display Team.
Over the years Ive tried severalI configurations and equipment for these recordings to the point of deciding to only use static scenes (with the gear mounted on a tripod or directly in my hands) in order to
better highlight the 3D/surround effect of this unique stereo recording.

Personal favorite demo of the 2024 Jesolo Air Show in Italy but it has been an easy win since I had already fallen madly in love with this agile airplane and its capabilities when I saw it for the first time at the ZigAirMeet last year, thanks to the incredible display put together by the French Solo Team.

What the hell is a 3D/Binaural recording?
Binaural recordings are reproductions of sound the way human ears hear it. Traditionally, recordings have been made using mono or stereo. Mono uses a single microphone while stereo uses two, spaced apart from each
other. Binaural recording takes the stereo method one step further by placing two microphones approximately
at the same average distance that exists between one and the other human ear. To recreate the best effect
you must put the microphones in your ears or by using a dummy head (wherein a mannequin head is outfitted
with a microphone in each ear) because having a real head or a head shape that separates the two
microphones is what makes the magic works. In fact if a car passes on your left side the sound will take a
few extra microseconds to reach the right ear and it will also be louder in one ear (left) than the other.
This is caused by the fact we have a thick skull and spongy brain between the two ears and sound waves
interact with the physical constitution of the listener and the surrounding space. Instead of following the
cars like Im used to do with my standard, stereo videos, keeping the microphone static (and so the
camera) the surround and depth effect typical of the binaural recordings is enanched.

I tried to set up a fictional 20-laps race with 18 Group C cars at the marvellous Kyalami Circuit in South Africa. I said fictional not only because it was made on a game but mainly because Kyalami had this clockwise layout until 1988 in which some of the cars you see I chose to the compose the grid didnt exist yet, in particular the 787B and the Nissan R91CP. To be picky the last race held with Group C cars (1988 Kyalami 500 Kilometres) was a mixture of Porsche 962Cs and other C2 cars. But anyway I went for the variety.
Before doing this gameplay recording I had to do some tests since half of the cars (and the track too) you see here come from third party add-ons so they may have some issues when played by AI or be too slow of fast compared to the others. For example the Lancia LC2s have a too low default fuel level, which forced them to pit twice over entire 20-laps race (at 6:25, thats a re-spawned LC2. After a crash or if AI remains stuck in the sand, they are sent back to the pits and they can join again the race). To avoid that I had to come to a compromise and remove the fuel consumption for all the cars, but I left the 1x tire wear.
Another problem was on the Sauber C9. Pretty strange since its an official car of the game... I had to add some ballast to slow them down or they continuously entered one of the last corners at a too high a speed, ending up in spinning or colliding with other opponents.
I also tried to set a personal dynamic weather plan, using the very famous Sol mod, so the first 6 minutes are with some fog, turning into a dark cloudy sky to end with just a few clouds.
