So happy to have finally managed to attend one of the greatest, if not the most spectacular, airshow in the world. This is a 3-days event during which the Swiss Air Force does some flight demonstrations, showing its ability in the alpine environment of Axalp, a district of the municipality of Brienz located at 1,535 meters above sea level in the beautiful Swiss Alps. The actual air show is held higher up, at around 2,200 meters above sea level, where three different view points allow spectators to watch the flight activities.

Among the various displays and demonstrations the most captivating one is for sure the live gun firing training of the FA-18 Hornet pilots, who can take advantage of different targets located on the mountains around to fire their 20mm Gatling guns.
