I looked back on old evangelical prayers, sermon notes, bible study notes and wrote responces to them. Seeing just how abusive so much of that theology was is quite the experience. So the first part of this is memories and poetic thoughts and

It felt good to have an answer and to speak outloud things I never would have dared to think, let alone share. But I sure wouldn't want anyone to think I was a christian the way it's all been lumped into maga and trump worship and zionism. I sure want to do my best to put as much distance as I can between all of that and myself and my family as I can.
But for the fellow agnostics, I hope you feel at home in this space- that you get some courage to pull out old notebooks and write your current self down. I hope you can creatively take back the prayers that you felt compelled to speak where you begged God to take your will and being and personhood and hopes and dreams away. Where you thought your only worth was in someones willingness to die for you. Where you thought that every emotion, every desire, every expression of personality was a sin to be atoned for. I hope you are finding healing and loving yourself where you are right now.

This is a video that I think I might have wanted to put off until I felt like I could make it as good as I wanted, but if I did that I would never do it. Because of course the clips that I collected cant match the feelings or perspectives or heart. But putting it out is important and Ill let it be what it is.
I met an amazing Ukrainian author and people who are working to help kids maintain a sense of a normalcy in the midst of the war. I listened to soldiers and leaders who have dedicated their lives to freeing their families from Putins evil grasp. I saw pictures of some of the devastation and the normal people forever changed by deciding that they couldnt do nothing.
And my kids got to see the robot that gave birth and it was fun to edit together some of their reactions. Im so glad for my kids to be educated and understand the truth about what an actual delivery can be like. Even though none of them were born that way because they were all c-section babies.
Lastly I included the footage about reiki and my girls refreshingly honest reactions to what it was like experiencing it for the first time.
