Loud & Clear! Lighthouse Fog Whistle Demonstration At Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse
We took a tour of the Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse in Mackinaw City, Michigan, and thoroughly enjoyed getting to do that. And just when we were about ready to leave, we found out that they were going to do a demonstration of their Fog Whistle. We couldn't miss that, so we stayed around for the approximately 10 minute program. Tyler, one of the Historical Interpreters at the Lighthouse, did a great job of giving us the history of the fog whistle and the building that housed it, noting that the building had been moved a few times in the past. At the end of the presentation, we got to hear the fog whistle give it's unique sounding sequence, which was very fun to experience. It was definitely "Loud & Clear"! Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse is a great place to visit if you're in the area, and worth tsking the time to see. Thanks for watching!
