There were 23 pieces that Segovia's 3rd wife had showed Elliot Fisk around 1996. She wanted Elliot Fisk to be the first to record her late husband's unknown works. He eventually did after the works were copyrighted. The publication is called Andres Segovia 23 Cancionones Populares (vol. 2)
I have heard many of the works and had especially taken a liking to the piece Serbia -12. I liked the mood it conveyed. So I eventually found the music book online and worked on it . I will say two years had passed before I finally got around to it.
Elliot Fisk is one of the great classical guitarists and he met Segovia when he was 19 and the maestro was 81. They became friends and formed a bond in which his wife would soon entrust Fisk with the recording of his these unknown works which might have been lost to the ages if his wife had not treasured them like gold.
In this video I play Serbia 12 twice. One as a demonstration and the other with a video of me walking in slow motion in the desert southwest. I love the mood this composition has. I hope that some listeners will enjoy this video.
