This is the first in a series of HTTYD score analysis videos I'm doing in which I analyze and explain HTTYD themes and leitmotifs as well as other aspects of the score. This one is on Lost and Found, a theme used to convey the main story theme of the HTTYD sequels. Unfortunately, I've had to split this one in two but the descriptions of both contain the same sources and Lost and Found Part 1 is linked directly below.

I decided to put this together to draw more attention to this particular, very special and interesting theme, John Powell’s intentions for it, and its uses in various contexts in both HTTYD 2 and HTTYD 3.
Initially, I considered writing an article about the music, specifically about Toothless Found. I decided to focus more broadly on Lost & Found and to put it in video form, so I could include both the scenes and music instead of just writing about it. That way, I can show you while I tell you. Plus, my friend and her Scenes and Scores channel made so much available to me that I had exactly what I needed for all the clips.
