Lord of Mysteries’ anime is officially returning in just 2 months, with three new special episodes set to begin releasing on June 20th, likely following a weekly schedule. These episodes are expected to adapt the remaining canon content from Volume 1, and if each runs around 40 minutes, that would add up to nearly two hours of brand new story content for fans.
However, there is some disappointing news as the official team has confirmed that a Japanese dub should not be expected, and it may not arrive anytime soon, if at all. On the positive side, the English and other language dubs have been strong, so the impact is not as significant for most viewers.
Regarding the manhua remake, updates have been slow due to the artist working from home while raising a baby with a small support team. The project is also self-funded by the IP team rather than Tencent, meaning it is a passion-driven effort focused on quality over speed, with no guarantee it will ever be fully completed.
Even so, fans are still getting a lot of content overall, including two upcoming games and plenty of donghua material, making this a strong period for Lord of Mysteries content.
