Is Re:Zero ending soon? A recent interview with Re:Zero author Tappei Nagatsuki has sparked debate after he discussed when the story might finally conclude, but the answer is far more complicated than it initially appears. Tappei originally planned Re:Zero to be much shorter, with only nine or ten arcs total and an ending he believed could be reached in about three years. Now, nearly fourteen years into serialization, the series has reached Arc 10, with the overall structure suggesting an ending closer to Arc 12, making the idea of Re:Zero ending “soon” feel questionable to long-time web novel readers.
In the interview, Tappei estimated that Re:Zero could end in about two more years, but he clearly framed this as a rough guess rather than a confirmed timeline. He then seemingly contradicted this estimate by reaffirming that a major spoiler he mentioned six years ago, while working on the Lost in Memories script, is still planned to be revealed roughly four years from now. This suggests that despite alarming headlines, Re:Zero likely has more story left than fans fear. As always with Re:Zero, the ending may exist, but the path to getting there remains unpredictable and far from straightforward.
