"Look For The Silver Lining" (1949) is a highly fictionalized (and sanitized) biopic of 1920s Broadway star Marilyn Miller (portrayed by June Haver). It was the first of two films in which Ms. Haver was loaned to Warner Brothers from Fox, and she considered this her best film and her best role. It's an enjoyable and entertaining musical, although perhaps not as well-remembered as others. Co-starring Ray Bolger, Gordon MacRae, Charles Ruggles, Rosemary DeCamp, and S.Z. Zakall. The version of the title tune is here performed by Fran Warren, recorded in 1947.

A tribute to Jenny Maxwell (September 3, 1941 - June 10, 1981). She is best remembered for playing the troubled and bratty Ellie Corbett in Blue Hawaii (1961), but she also had a fairly prolific television career, until she gave up her career to focus on being a mother. She was only 16 when she came to Hollywood and unfortunately got caught up in a wild lifestyle for several years but ultimately, she turned her life around. In 1981, she was about to divorce her second husband and was looking forward to starting a new chapter in her life, but it was not to be.
