Local governments can help lead the ways on transforming our housing stock to reduce energy bills, increase comfort, improve health and help us live a more sustainable lifestyle.
Join us as we discuss two such successful programs that will inspire your community to take action.
We will feature The Frederick Co MD Green Homes Challenge which helps homeowners "find actions within each of the challenges that apply to your household and add them to your “Actions To Do List”. Once you complete the actions you will earn points and you’ll be on your way to becoming a Certified Household!"
Next, we will feature the City of Holland’s ‘Home Energy 101’ education program, which partners with local non-profit agencies to deliver free home energy education for all Holland-area residents. After completing an in-home education visit, participants save an average of $200 on their combined utility bills and show increased engagement with other rebate programs. Holland has also created a guide to help other communities launch similar programs in their own communities
