A member of staff was lucky enough to catch this fantastic footage of our Common Lobster moulting. Lobsters are invertebrates and wear their skeleton on the outside of the body in the form of armoured plates, this is called an exoskeleton. They wiggle out of their old exoskeleton whilst absorbing water to expand their body to its new larger size. This process continues as it grows, occurring up to 25 times in its first 5-7 years.
