Lizzo’s video announcing she is no longer vegan clearly shows that she has many misunderstandings about nutrition and about veganism in general.
Sadly people will overlook the obvious misinformation that Lizzo is discussing and use that fact that she has stopped eating a plant-based diet as a justification for why they continue to eat animal products. However, the fact that Lizzo seems to be unaware that you get protein from plants and thinks we should eat be eating a raw alkaline diet very obviously shows how ill informed she is about diet and nutrition. Considering this is the kind of research she’s been doing, we should be all be taking her claim that she did ‘tests’ and ‘research’ about animal protein with a massive pinch of salt.
Also, it is clear that Lizzo never connected with the fact that veganism is not a diet and is about animals. Veganism is not about doing what makes us happy, it’s about being ethically consistent when it comes to our view of non-human animals. It is outrageous that she can claim that everyone should just do what makes them happy while overlooking the fact that she is condoning animals being mutilated, forcibly impregnated, forced into gas chambers and slaughtered. #Lizzo
