Julius Caesar, Pompey Magnus, Cicero, Quintus Sertorius, Crassus, Cato - these are some of the most famous names in Roman history, but none of these men featured very heavily in the original Rome Total War. 77BC was a mod that moved the start date of Rome's campaign to the last years of the Roman Republic, and with a commendable attention to historical detail, excellent campaign design and balance, as well as the inherent drama of the period, it remains one of Rome's best (if underrated) mods. Thankfully for all of us, it has also now been ported to the Rome Total War Remaster so we can all enjoy it again on modern systems.
