In this Live with Joan, Joan interviews Afton Hughes, dog trainer, CWALU student and teacher trainer and, Claudia Goodman, a CWALU graduate and teacher. Both are part of the CWALU Outreach Department. CWALU Outreach is a program designed to give back to the animals and the people who care for them by offering a call with advanced students to connect with animals that are having a behavior or medical challenge. We work with rescues, sanctuaries, wildlife refuges, performance animals and animals previously used in laboratories. On two previous Live with Joan episodes, Joan had connected with and done EFT Tapping with two separate dogs, Draco and Penny, who came from different shelters. Each had their own challenges and it was affecting their ability to get adopted.

Afton shared how her becoming an animal communicator and energy healer has given her an incredible advantage in her work in fostering and training.
Claudia shared about how being a part of this outreach department and facilitating these calls has given her a purpose she never imagined she could have in helping animals in need.
