A toddler was lowered into a narrow gap between two buildings to rescue a puppy that had become trapped below in Gansu, China.

Footage shows the young girl being carefully lowered in a makeshift harness before reaching the stranded puppy.

The pair were safely lifted back to the surface together after the successful rescue.
