Welcome to part twenty nine in this series of videos in which I take the advice of all of those Christian fundamentalists and read my bible - literally
You see if you are going to believe in the literal "truth" of the bible and take it literally then literally is the only way that you can read it.
In this episode Jacob finally makes it to Haran and arrives at a well which seems to be the watering hole of choice for men in biblical times when they were out looking for single women to hook up with
Of course Jacob meets Rachel, the daughter of his mothers brother, the girl of his dreams which turns out to be his cousin, or is she is niece
This is Genesis so naturally things are never simple and Jacob does a deal with his uncle Laban, his mother's brother, or possibly his brother, to marry Rachel.
Of course, with Jacobs uncle Laban, his mother's brother, being as honest as the rest of the family, Jacob gets well and truly shafted as Laban, his mother's brother, makes a bid to become the founder of the thing that would be one day called marketing and so proving that he is completely evil.
But in the end, even though he ended up marrying the wrong wife Jacob still cannot resist the urge to get her pregnant.
Repeatedly
