My name is Ling Qi. I am the Andrew Pisano District distinguished Professor in Physiology, and I also serve as a department chair for Molecular physiology and of biological physics in the laboratory. We try to understand how the protein degradation system works in health and disease. My goal is to elevate the department to new heights by creating a environment that fosters innovation and excellence in both research and education.
Our work has impact on human health in two ways. Our work can elucidate how the mechanisms, how this protein degradation system works in health and disease. The second, the most direct ways that we have identified the human patients that carry the genetic mutations in the pathways we study.
