Originally I planned on having a bird fly by. I had a crude bird pass by in the earlier videos but I finally programmed a real bird. I will probably change its color but it flies around the top of the screen and swoops down when you climb up the poles.
I also added a life counter on the bottom. I originally started programming with no idea what the gameplay goal would be. I just liked the idea of climbing up power poles and balloons. I right now have a health meter and I am thinking of having the left be a balloon counter. I may have the escaped balloons take away health along with falls and bird hits. If you run out of health before you fill up the balloon meter then you lose a life. To get more lives you can get your toolbox that will periodically appear in the street. Haven't figured out how to do that but I think I will have it to where you push down when on the sidewalk and maybe have you reach and grab it or something. Not sure.
But now with all the gameplay elements programmed the game is probably like 80% done. Never intended for anything complicated since this was for my sons. I might make some progression, like have the bird appear after a couple waves or the hole in the sidewalk disapepar and reappear but as it is now I found it to be a little challenging when I test play.
