Lindsay Clancy's murder trial could start moving more quickly after she willingly agreed Tuesday to admit to several facts the prosecution intended to prove as part of its case.
"Yes, your honor," Clancy said, speaking in open court for the first time since her trial started in response to several questions from Judge William Sullivan about the agreement.
Judge Sullivan ultimately approved the stipulation agreed upon by both the prosecution and defense after Clancy confirmed she was entering the agreement voluntarily and with careful consideration.
The agreement saves the prosecution from needing to call potentially dozens of witnesses in an effort to prove facts of the case regarding physical evidence the defense says it doesn't dispute.
The move could save significant time in what was expected to be a six-week trial.
