For Red Giant's special 1-week contest, I decided to make an abridged cover of Game of Thrones' Light of the Seven featuring some amazing actors as special guests!

So this one is DEFINITELY going to be a bit odd, but bear with me.. I saw that Red Giant, an awesome VFX Software company, was hosting a week-long contest to use these really neat green screen assets based on Game of Thrones. While my mind initially wanted to do a snowy battle, just as Red Giant had featured in their tutorials, I decided against it and wanted to do something moderately original. That said I had a ton of trouble coming up with 3.5 minutes worth of material, let alone recording a 3.5 minute cover! I appreciate my buddies Peter G., Laura P., and more for offering sage help and guidance where needed!
Using Red Giant's VFX Suite trial I was able to use Supercomp to glue a lot of these actors, and my performance shots, into the background seamlessly! In addition they also featured some really cool King Pin Tracker effects (a way to stick my effects into other surfaces), and hopefully combining all these comps (there were like 20-30 of them in this After Effects project) made a compelling video. With more time I would have definitely liked to cover the full song and introduce a full fledged war scene.. But hey, for a week I'm just happy I got the chance. I hope you all, and Red Giant enjoys what I came up with! And regardless of the win, I highly recommend RG for all your insane VFX needs.
