After 6 years, we finally return to the wild.. This song has some serious history, as it started out being a Patreon Request for longtime support and buddy @Sanjesh_P who wanted to see myself and Jack cover it way back! We both fell off working on it both for licensing and just busyness of life, and only when I learned about #tearsofthekingdom did I figure I should give it a shot again! I wanted to arrange it faithfully, include the night section, and keep a lot of arpeggiations and wide-ranged riffs to help bridge that symphonic dramatic sound of the original.
To up the ante, the mighty bassist of @ArchEcho Joe Calderone himself had been on my radar as a great player and lover of Zelda, so I was super stoked to have @JoeCalderone aboard the Castle *and* Kass' theme - you can even hear some cool nods in his bass solo to the classic castle theme! Lastly of course, @DavidRussell323 was an incredibly important part of The Wild (2017) so having him do those big octave runs and fill out the prog-metal sound on keys helped bring this up to the last EP's level.
Finally big props to our Ganondorf AKA @JoeZieja who I've been video editing for the last year or so! Having a killer voice actor, especially one I've been learning a ton from, gave this song and album a cinematic story-driven feel and I knew that monologue from the TOTK trailer would just send chills down a listener's spine. Having worked on his excellent Voice Acting Academy I especially knew we'd be given a treat with his contribution, and I can't recommend it enough to other eager VOs! Enjoy the track, the new album
