Michael Brooks (August 13, 1983 – July 20, 2020) was a political commentator who originated in the media landscape as a co-host and contributor to the show The Majority Report with Sam Seder (youtube.com/user/SamSeder).
In 2017 he started his own show, The Michael Brooks Show (TMBS) (youtube.com/channel/UCh2UY1hxlMr4_7Az_iQ82HQ), and grew his own channel and independent voice while still continuing to contribute to and appear on The Majority Report. He had also recently begun a political podcast for Jacobin with Ana Kasparian from The Young Turks (youtube.com/watch?v=61E-jKDfIYc).
Micheal was an incredible thinker, impressionist and comedian, an insightful and charismatic political commentator, a budding author and by all accounts a genuinely all-round nice person. Unfortunately on July 20 of 2020, Michael passed away from a sudden medical condition.
This news hit me extremely hard. I've been watching Michael for many years now, almost every day, and it felt like losing a close friend.
I felt compelled to make a tribute to him. Here are my thoughts about his life, career and character. I've included many clips of Michael being amazing, hence the great length of this video. I feel it is worth it though, to celebrate his life and acknowledge his great work.
