On 10th September 2025 Charlie Kirk, the prominent right wing activist and organiser, was killed. This was akin to a grenade being thrown into the left-right political divide, and has had lasting impacts to today (early 2026).
Here I break down my thoughts about his death which I didn’t share at the time (I was not that active online), and react to a variety of political creators’ reactions to the killing and what it illustrates about the selective nature of outrage over people being killed (in politicised circumstances).
With ICE killing and abducting people currently, it’s interesting to contrast the same right wing influencers’ silence on these atrocities with the nuclear levels of outrage at the left when Charlie Kirk was killed.
It seems they want people to care about the deaths of the people THEY care about, but people who are murdered by right wing forces or policies? Time to excuse. Belittle. Downplay. Deflect and degrade.
I got progressively more tired throughout recording this video, and didn’t get to half of the topics I wanted to before running out of energy, so I’m going to do a part 2.
I also cut so much content from this video, I’m going to release those cuts as a mini follow up.
There was numerous side rants during the recording of this video, which made editing it very tedious.
I am really hoping I will be more focused in part 2 aye aye ayeeee.
