This one is for my Democrat-voting, left-leaning, liberal gun owners.
I know there are a lot of you out there.
I know you support the Second Amendment.
And I know a lot of you think people on this side are fear-mongering when we say the modern Democratic Party is becoming openly hostile to gun rights.
But consider this the warning.
The Democratic Party you think you’re voting for is not the same Democratic Party that exists today.
A growing part of the party now openly identifies with democratic socialism, and that movement is not confused about the Second Amendment.
They wrote it down.
The Democratic Socialists of America published an article literally titled “The Second Amendment is a Threat to us All.”
In that same piece, they argued that the way to reduce gun violence is to remove guns from society.
Then they drafted language to repeal the Second Amendment.
Then they called for banning pump-action, semi-automatic, and automatic firearms.
And what would you be allowed to keep?
One bullet.
Loaded by hand.
One at a time.
So when people say “nobody is coming for your guns,” understand what is actually happening.
The language got softer.
The branding got friendlier.
The word “democratic” got placed in front of socialism so classical liberals would not flinch.
But the destination did not change.
Repeal the Second Amendment.
Ban the guns.
Centralize power.
Then they try to gaslight you with the Marx quote about workers not surrendering arms. But Marx did not believe in your individual right to keep and bear arms as a free citizen. He believed an armed working class was useful for revolution.
After the revolution, the party commands the guns.
That is the arrangement.
That is why the Second Amendment cannot survive under a socialist structure.
Because the Second Amendment is built on the idea that the citizen is free.
That the people have rights the government does not grant.
That the people retain the ability to protect themselves, their homes, their families, and their liberty.
Socialism does not work with that kind of citizen.
It needs dependency.
It needs central control.
It needs the government to be the final authority.
So if you are a liberal gun owner still telling yourself that the party is not really anti-Second Amendment, stop listening to the slogans and start reading what they wrote.
They are telling you what they want.
Believe them.
And if you vote for it anyway, do not act surprised when the Second Amendment is the first thing they decide has to go.
