King Con is a geek convention in the north of Stockholm, in the town of Kungsängen. Here you can play role-playing games, learn to draw manga, test an escape room, try different board games, play VR games, paint miniatures, dress up for the cosplay competition, and a lot more.
This convention aims to be a fun place for children and adults alike, and it's arranged by Spelsällskapet Upplands-Bro, a newly formed organization since 2020. The convention itself is two years old, and it's already expanded from a single day to cover both the Saturday and the Sundan - and they're thinking about making it a three-day convention for 2024. And, unlike other more commercially-inclined conventions, this is a completely free event.
In this video I explore everything that the convention has to offer, and I also interview cosplayers, organizers, representatives from Studiefrämjandet, manga artists, role-playing game masters, Blood Bowl players, and many others to learn more about the convention and why people attend it.
