On December 5, 2010, Carolina Panthers punter Jason Baker made a legendary shoestring tackle on Seattle Seahawks return specialist Leon Washington, stopping what appeared to be a guaranteed touchdown at the 1-yard line. During the third quarter of the game, Washington fielded a punt and sliced through the coverage unit, breaking into the open field for an explosive 84-yard return.

Believing he was safely home free with only the punter left to beat, Washington prematurely raised his index finger in celebration near the Carolina 40-yard line.
