This is a guide on replacing a screen on a Lenovo ThinkPad E490

For the replacement process we will need the following tools:
- plastic pick
- and Phillips screwdriver

To begin shut the laptop down and disconnect the power cord.

Start removing the bezel. Insert a plastic pick between the bezel and the LCD
and move around the perimeter. Open the laptop to a wide angle to release
the bottom part of the bezel. Put the bezel aside.

Remove four Phillips screws holding the screen in place. Separate the
screen from the back cover and place the screen onto the keyboard.
Using plastic pick and fingers peel of the clear tape securing the video
connector. Open the connector’s bracket. Disconnect the video cable.
Discard the old screen.

Place the new screen on the keyboard. Reconnect the video cable.
close the connector’s bracket. Secure it with clear tape.

Using alcohol and cloth clean the surfaces on the sides of the screen
and the back cover. Apply new adhesive strips. Lift the screen up and
apply some pressure. Remove protective film.

Replace the bezel. Start from the bottom then go around the perimeter
snapping tabs back in place. Make sure that the bezel is snapped in place
at the bottom of the screen.

Turn the laptop on and we are done!
