Lenovo ThinkPad P15s screen replacement

This is a guide on replacing a screen on a Lenovo ThinkPad P15s

For the replacement process we’ll need just a plastic pick and tweezers.

To begin turn off the laptop and disconnect the power cord.

Using a plastic pick pry off the bezel on the inner edge. The bezel is heavily
glued on all four sides and it takes time and patience to remove it.
Move the pick around the perimeter unsnapping the tabs underneath.
Put the bezel aside.

The screen is held in place with two adhesive strips on the sides.
Using tweezers pick up the loose tab on the right side and pull out
the adhesive strip. Pull out the adhesive strip on the left side.

Now when the screen is released, place it on the keyboard to get
access to the video connector. Remove the clear tape from the video
connector. Using a plastic pick open the connectors bracket.
Disconnect the video cable and put the broken screen aside.

Place the new screen on the keyboard. Carefully align the video connector and using both hands reconnect the video cable.
Close the bracket and secure the cable with clear tape.

CAUTION! It is very important not to force any connectors. Also
make sure not to twist or slant the connector when plugging it in.

Now we can test the screen. Lift the screen up and lean it against the back
cover. Turn the laptop on. The screen is working and we can finish the reinstallation
process.

In order to secure the the screen in the back cover we are going to use a set
of adhesive strips, which you can buy on our site: laptopscreen.com

Use alcohol and a piece of cloth to clean the surfaces on the screen sides.
Apply adhesive strips. Lift the screen up and apply some pressure to catch
the adhesive. Make sure that the tabs in the bottom of the screen are tucked away.

Replace the bezel. Go around the perimeter, snapping tabs back in place.

Reconnect the power cord, turn the laptop on and we are done!
