#Dlium Legi rattan or Daemonorops melanochaetes (Calamus melanochaetes) is a species of plant in the Arecaceae, a dense shrub, growing climbing up to 12 meters, stems brownish, cylindrical, diameter with fronds 30-52 mm, diameter without fronds 20-26 mm. The length of the segment is 21 cm and the height of the book is 2.5 mm.

C. melanochaetes has brownish green leaf midribs, black spines, spines 2-3.5 cm long and brown indumentum. The climbing tool is in the form of a ponytail or ponytail, 85 cm long, the stem is 25 cm long and the bottom surface of the stem is black.

The mouth of the leaf midrib is surrounded by black spines 5 cm long. Knee clear. Okrea is unclear. Leaf length up to 2.8 meters. 80 pairs of minor leaves, ribbon to lanceolate in shape, regularly pinnately arranged, 50 cm long, 3 cm wide, 3 bones and covered with black hairs.

Inflorescence up to 35 cm long and 12 cm wide. The outer bracts are dense with slender spines and are black. Fruits are round, 1-3 cm in diameter, covered with brown scales. Seeds are round and slightly angular.

Legi rattan grows to form shrubs in swampy lowland forests at elevations of 20-1400 meters. Stems are commonly used as raw material for making tables, chairs and household crafts. Fruit cooked to eat. Young shoots have a sweet taste and are usually served as fresh vegetables.
