This circuit is an Alcohol tester, based on MQ-3 sensor, thanks to which it is able to detect alcohol vapors. When the sensor MQ-3 detect alcohol vapor, the conductivity of the sensor will be the same as the alcohol vapor concentration. By measuring the series partial pressure between the sensor and the fixed resistor, the alcohol content in the air can be judged.

● About MQ-3 Sensor: MQ-3 is a gas sensor that has also high sensitity to Alcohol, and has good resistance to disturb of gasoline, smoke and vapor. This sensor provides an analog resistive output based on alcohol concentration. When the alcohol gas exist, the sensor's conductivity gets higher along with the gas concentration rising.
The IC that drives this circuit is a NE555, the rest are simple components.. there is a relay with which, analyzing the circuit, it is possible to drive an external device, like a visual alarm etc.

- 1x Red LED 5mm
- 1x 1N4148 Diode
- 1x Buzzer
- 1x 5V Relay (Model: HK23F-DC5V)
- 1x Toggle Switch
- 1x Power Socket (DC-005)
- 2x 1KΩ resistors
- 1x 120Ω Resistor
- 1x 5.1Ω Resistor
- 1x 10KΩ Trimmer
- 1x PCB (Size: 63*37*1.4mm)
