At the very beginning of the video I start a beautiful Lloyd Green run I learned in Farewell Party. With A pedal down, you pick the 5th string at fret 9, then slide up to fret 10 and then 12, then do it again. Lloyd only picks the notes once and runs up both times on one note being picked. I pick the note before each run, so it's a bit difference. When you get to fret 12 on the 2nd run up, pick string 1 and 5 together (A pedal down). Slide back to fret 11 with strings 1 and 5 , let off A pedal, then slide down to fret 9 (strings 1 and 5 and press A pedal). So you're basically picking strings 1 and 5 with A down, and then you let off the A pedal at fret 11, and then pump it at the bottom when you return to fret 9.

At 0:05 in the video I pick strings 4 and 5 at fret 9, and then I slide up to fret 10 using the A pedal and E knee (lowers 4 and 8 a half tone). This is definitely not a Lloyd piece, because he doesn't lower his 4th string. I do. However, this sound is very popular in Lloyd's playing. A reverse bar slant can also be used, picking strings 4 and 5 on the 9th fret, and then slanting the bar up to 10 to raise string 5 a half tone. String 4 does not slide up, it stays at fret 9.

I use the first mentioned method above, as seen in the video. It's a VERY common sound that Lloyd uses. Again, you pick atrings 4 and 5 at fret 9, press A pedal down; and then slide up to fret 10 while lowering E knee and leaving A pedal down, then slide back down to fret 9 and let off E knee, returning to original position. A pedal stays down the entire time.
