In the floppy version of LBA, fmv cutscenes are replaced with a picture. In the cd version there's a fade in and a fade out of about 1second each but in the floppy version there's only a fade in but no fade out, it instantly switches to black. So it saves about 1 second per fmv to use the floppy version. Btw loading is a bit faster in dosbox and modern hardware. This is recorded in PCem 16 emulating a Pentium MMX 300. The time gained with the floppy version is probably the same in other emulators. Loading time is 0.5 second more with voices enabled, at least in PCem.
