Summary:
You would not want to meet him in a dark (or well-lighted) courtroom, unless he was on your side. When Thurgood Marshall argued cases before the U.S. Supreme Court, he went 29 for 3, winning more cases before our highest court than any other American.
In 1930, young Thurgood applied to the University of Maryland School of Law because it was just a few blocks from his parents’ house. They denied him admission because he was Black. (Belated note to the U of Maryland: Don’t piss off a brilliant lawyer in training)!
All in good time, Thurgood righted that wrong and changed America forever. With our nation’s rule of law now in peril, join us as we seek the lesson and spirit of Thurgood Marshall.
